Congratulations to DB Pirates players and Lantau residents Zak Baldwin, Jake Barlow, Mikkel Christensen, Liam Doherty, Taka Hoshiyama, James Rivers and Mark Coebergh for qualifying to play in the World Rugby U20 Trophy in Romania this month.

DB players Mark Coebergh and Liam Doherty played the Asia Rugby U20s Sevens at King’s Park last Saturday (August 11).

The team won the regional title for the fifth time in a row after Liam’s try at the buzzer gave Hong Kong a 5-0 win over South Korea.

18-year-old Liam, who represented Hong Kong for the first time last November, said that he is thrilled to be representing Hong Kong, adding: “It’s been a real journey and I’m excited for what’s to come in the future.”

We’re sure the DB community will join with us in congratulating the team on this fantastic achievement and wish them the best of luck at the World Rugby U20 Trophy!
