DB residents were left relieved this morning (August 23) after a bus crashed into a shelter at DB North Plaza.

The single-decker DB03P bus suffered extensive damage to its windscreen and front bumper. While it is still unclear what caused the accident, witnesses described hearing a loud bang.

One local mother, who had crossed the road with her children just a few minutes earlier, said that she was relieved the accident had taken place after she had dropped them off at school. “In the mornings, this pretty much becomes a family crossing,” she explained. “It’s right next to the funicular lift. Plenty of local school children use this part of the road everyday. Thanks goodness no one was hurt.”

In a statement to Around DB, DB Transport said, “An empty bus collided with a shelter at about 8.35am on August 23 at DB North.  While the driver was slightly injured, no passengers or pedestrians were hurt in the incident.  The cause of the incident is still under investigation.”
