LAST MONTH’S WINNER

Last month we asked you to draw a picture of your dad for Father’s Day and share it with us. Our favourite was this drawing by Mia Ng, aged 8.

STORY TIME

Ben and the Sneaky Surfboard

Ben was ready for his first surf camp. He had his swimsuit, his towel and a giant blob of sunscreen on his nose.

At the beach, Coach Jun handed him a surfboard. “Easy!” said Ben confidently. But the surfboard had other ideas.

When Ben tried to carry it, the board spun sideways. BONK! It tapped him on the head. When he put it on the sand, a gust of wind pushed it away. “Hey! Come back!” Ben laughed, chasing after it.

Finally, it was time to surf.

Ben paddled out and spotted a small wave. “Go, Ben!” shouted the campers. Ben popped up to his feet. For three whole seconds, he surfed like a pro!

Then a wave splashed him right in the face. SPLOOSH! Ben tumbled into the water, laughing so hard he nearly swallowed a mouthful of sea. “This is the best camp ever!” he said with a grin.
