Rachel Ainsley
MANAGING EDITOR
Rachel has been with Around DB for some time (longer than anyone can remember). A control freak who’s all about deadlines, words and pictures, she knows a good story when she sees one and gets a kick out of featuring local talent. Rachel loves kindness, music, driving with the wind in her hair and a good giggle.
Steen Skovfoged
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Steen came on board in April 2026 and is a DB resident of 20+ years. An infinitely charming global retail branding expert, he’s intent on expanding our reach and readership. In his free time, Steen loves dragon boating (with the Sea Cucumbers), studying history, politics and foreign cultures, and hanging out in the South Plaza with friends.
Sarin Ale
ART DIRECTOR
Sarin waltzed into our midst in November 2021 and immediately raised the bar. When working her creative magic, she’s proactive, professional, patient and enthusiastic. Sarin loves travelling to cold places, painting and watching the rain. She’s proud of her Nepalese heritage and has an annoying obsession with dogs.
Kayli Liebenberg
DIGITAL MARKETING COORDINATOR
Kayli joined the team in May 2023 as editorial and client services assistant, two years after graduating from YHKCC. Her creativity, adaptability and social-media savvy quickly made her indispensable. Kayli loves her beautiful Maine Coon cat, gaming with friends on her PC and R&B music.
Andrew Spires
PHOTOGRAPHER
Andrew worked on Around DB from 2016 to 2019 as graphic designer; he was welcomed back in April 2025 to take photos. A sharp shooter, Andrew is also a web designer, cook, joke collector and quiz master. Empathetic and wickedly funny, he loves craft beer, music festivals and being a full-time dad (without a helper).
Since being acquired by Harvey Law Group in early 2025, Around DB has entered an exciting new chapter. Feeling energised and supported, we’re continuing to grow while staying true to our roots!
