MYTHS, MONSTERS AND MANGA


Myths, Monsters, and Manga opens on October 17 at M+ Museum, exploring fantasy’s evolution across Asian visual culture. From Japanese ukiyo-e prints and Indonesian shadow puppetry to manga, anime and digital art, the exhibition traces how fantastical ideas have travelled across borders and creative disciplines to make a global impact. LAN KWAI FONG STREET PARTY


While the Lan Kwai Fong Association has not hosted an official Halloween celebration since 2019, the area remains Hong Kong’s unofficial Halloween headquarters. Come October 31, LKF’s bars and restaurants go all out with spooky theme parties, and revellers, dressed in outrageous costumes, spill out onto the streets. Expect crowds, and plenty of Halloween mayhem.



CENTRAL MARKET OKTOBERFEST


Hong Kong’s biggest Oktoberfest returns to Central Market from October 8 to 31. Enjoy German favourites including pork knuckles, pork and cheese sausages and apple strudel, paired with Löwenbräu and Franziskaner beers. JAPAN AUTUMN FESTIVAL


Running through December 22, the Japan Autumn Festival is already in full swing at venues across the city. You can expect a variety of Japan-related activities, including film, performing arts, arts and crafts, food, sports, lectures and promotional offers.
