Just three weeks after announcing an extended series of dates in North America, as well as plans to come to Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines, Justin Bieber abruptly announced that the last stop on his globally successful Purpose tour will be Arlington, Texas, on Saturday July 29.

Due to perform in Hong Kong on September 27 as the penultimate stop of his 18 month tour, Bieber has not yet spoken about the decision, but a source close to the tour revealed to the US Media that he was “just over it” while his press team cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the cancellation.

The press release continued, “Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates.”

The news comes less than a week after he was banned from mainland China due to “bad behaviour.”

Tickets had not yet gone on sale in Hong Kong, and all other purchases have been promised refunds at the point of sale.
