Lantau Yacht Club (LYC) welcomed the first member’s boat in late August 2020, and DB Marina (the only marina built specifically for superyachts in Hong Kong) has since become a superyacht showcase. The club has attracted numerous top-of-the-line yachts including the Pershing 140, Custom Line Navetta 30, Princess X95, Mangusta 130, 39.6m Astilleros MCIES, Sanlorenzo SX112 and Azimut Grande 35 Metri, all of which are firsts in Asia.
Moving into 2022 with overseas travel still restricted, LYC expects the local yachting scene to continue to thrive, and it is looking forward to the delivery of new superyachts, some over 60 metres, in the coming months.
A premium, members-only club offering world-class mooring facilities and recreational options, LYC received its first major accolade on its first anniversary, September 2021, when it was accredited as a Five Gold Anchors marina by the Marina Industries Association. The award positioned the club among the most outstanding marinas in the world for both its facilities and services. To further enhance its offering, LYC is establishing a Yachting Academy Centre for club members, and wake surfing classes will soon be on offer. Providers are also on board for onsite yacht care services, maintenance and yacht management services, as is The Chandlery store, for boats, dinghies and water toys.
“We would like to extend a warm welcome to our service partners and we look forward to building an all encompassing maritime ecosystem here at LYC to promote water activities and a premium yachting lifestyle,” says Charlotte Ho, Director of Hospitality Marketing and Membership of Auberge Hospitality.
In the coming months, LYC also plans to build its reputation as a beautiful and exclusive venue for industry and private events. A number of events are already planned for 2022, including the Hong Kong Yacht Show organised by the Hong Kong Boating Industry Association.
