Congratulations to DB Pirates players Anjalika Ybema, Florence Symonds, Nancy McGillivray, and Shanna Forrest, who were selected once again to represent Hong Kong in the Under 18s girls’ squad at the Asia Rugby Under 18s Girls Sevens tournament in India over the weekend.

This is the second time that all four of 16-year-old players were selected as a group. For two of the ‘Fantastic Four,’ this was their fourth selection for the team.

Selections were made in early October, when 16 players from across Hong Kong were invited to participate in trials for the squad and train as a team. After a four-week training period comprising three to four session per week, the final squad of 12 was selected.

The team played brilliantly in the tournament, which saw competitors representing countries from across Asia. The Hong Kong team made it all the way to the finals, before being beaten 28-5 by China.

Well done once again to the girls for a fantastic effort.
