Ocean Park has announced this week that admission fees are set to increase by up to HK$42 per ticket, effective January 2018.

In a statement released yesterday (December 13), the park announced a price increase of approximately 9% in order to “maintain competitiveness through investment and facility enhancement, balance cost pressures and keep the park’s finances suitable.”

Under the new structure, daytime admission tickets for adults will increase from HK$438 to HK$480, while tickets for children (aged three to 11) will increase from HK$219 to HK$240.

According to Ocean Park Chairman Leo Kung, Ocean Park is “managing complexity and change in a competitive landscape characterised by reinvestment and expansion of large scale theme parks across Asia,” and has “numerous new theme park launches and development projects in the pipeline.”

The new prices will come into effect on January 1, 2018, however Hong Kong residents will still be able to enjoy 2017 prices until February 28.

The park will also continue to offer Hong Kong residents free admission on their birthdays, upon presentation of valid Hong Kong identification documents. To further attract Hong Kongers, a 15% exclusive birthday discount will be offered in 2018 as well, valid for four same-day tickets during an individual’s birthday month.

Looking to the future, Ocean Park’s focus is on transforming the park into a premier international resort destination through the opening of the 471-room Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel around the middle of next year, a new, year-round Water World in 2019 and The Fullerton Ocean Park hotel in 2021.
