The back to school season is upon us and so are extracurricular activities. We bring you a guide to what Lantau has to offer ranging from sports, language, computing, the arts and more.

 

Computing

Creative Coding

Creative Coding offers classes for three levels of coding at Discovery College and Sound Waves in Tung Chung. mBot encourages kids, aged six to 14, to develop a maker mindset by learning MIT, Scratch and Robotics programming. The Arts

Acting Antics is offering a Youth Theatre camp for kids aged five to 11 at Discovery College Black Box Theatre from August 7 to 11. During each camp, students audition, rehearse and perform fully costumed musical plays for family and friends. They get the chance to work with an internationally experienced vocal coach and director to improve their public speaking, acting, singing, presentation and performance skills, while gaining confidence and having fun!

Acting Antics’ after-school classes are ideal for kids who love to act, sing, dance and perform, and who wish to improve their skills, experience and confidence. In the twice yearly performances, each student gets a role with dialogue and great costumes. Performance Junior classes (ages four to five) and Musical Theatre & Dance classes (ages seven to 10) are held on Tuesdays. Island Dance has been offering RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet for 10 years at Club Siena Dance Studio. Baby Ballet, Ballet Buds and Ballet Belles are offered to children aged between 18 months and five years. Pre-Primary, graded and intermediate levels are taught to older students, aged six to adult.
