The new store also welcomes the world’s first IKEA Close to You retail concept, providing a truly diversified, one-stop shopping experience.
Freshly-made Gastronomic Delights
An industry-leading supermarket, Market Place places a special focus on Western cuisine, healthy food and pet supplies. Products and seasonal produce are sourced both overseas and locally, and there’s a sensational range of freshly-made food on offer with everything from made-to-order sushi to artisan pastries from Bread Pantry.
For health-conscious shoppers, Market Place has teamed up with New Zealand healthy snacks brand Alison’s Pantry to provide a special self-service Nuts Bar. Snackers can choose from a selection of over 40 nuts, and also take their pick from the crunchy or smooth nut butters, freshly made in store. Alison’s Pantry also offers nutritious snacks for pets, and you can share the joy with your four-legged friends at the Dog Treat Bar.
Adhering to the brand’s sustainability ethos, the bags available at the nuts and treats bars are made from 100% pure paper to encourage recycling and upcycling.
Calling all Bread Lovers
Grégoire Michaud, Four Seasons Hong Kong’s former executive pastry chef and founder of the Bakehouse artisanal bakery and café in Central and Wanchai has teamed up with Market Place to bring his hugely popular retail brand Bread Pantry to DB. Chef Michaud uses only premium natural ingredients in his baked goods. To mark this partnership between Market Place and Bread Pantry, Chef Michaud has prepared three exclusive pastries for DB shoppers – Cinnamon Apple Turnover, Cheese Pretzel and Vanilla Raisin Danish. Signature bakes, including sourdough loaves, stone-baked artisanal rolls and fresh-out-of-the-oven croissants, are also available at Market Place.
Wine and Beer Selection
From spirits to wine, beer and non-alcoholic wines and beers, with pricing options to satisfy everyone, there are over a thousand offerings at Market Place, all carefully categorised and shelved in an easy-to-shop manner. In light of the rise in popularity of craft beer, each made with unique brewing techniques for a distinctive taste, Market Place stocks a wide range of hot-selling international labels, and has also actively partnered up with local brands — such as Young Master and Gweilo – to introduce customers to Hong Kong’s best craft beer.
As for bar snacks, customers can find gourmet platters and over 80 types of specialty cheeses from across the world to facilitate marvelous liquor and food pairing experiences.

Completing the one-stop shopping experience, the world’s first IKEA Close to You at Market Place offers over 110 home furnishing products and 120 Swedish signature gourmet delicacies, as well as sauces and condiments.
IKEA Close to You features a number of neat digital solutions designed to enhance the shopping experience and spark creativity. State-of-the-art devices include a 2-metre-high interactive screen that provides shoppers with home decorating ideas, and the Swedish Cooking Interactive Screen that dishes out tips and recipes, have been designed to.
