The Hong Kong Observatory has reported that the area of low pressure, previously towards the northeast of the Philippines, will develop into a typhoon on Sunday afternoon.
This would be Hong Kong’s third storm in the last two weeks.
Its movements remain relatively slow, however is expected to edge closer to the region beginning early Sunday morning, according to Windy.com. Associated unsettled weather and showers will affect Hong Kong over the weekend and early next week.
