Typhoon may affect Hong Kong later this week

Posted in : News on by : Around DB Comments: 0

The Hong Kong Observatory has this morning raised the Standby T1 Signal, as a tropical cyclone is now centred within 800km of Hong Kong.

An area of low pressure over the central part of the South China Sea has strengthened overnight and is expected to move in the direction of Hainan Island and Guandgdong. The storm is expected to gradually intensify, although winds are not expected to raise significantly today. The Observatory predicts that the storm is unlikely to come within 400km of Hong Kong, however there may be some squally showers over the region.

Fine and dry weather is expected to return to the region by the weekend.
