Toy gun shakes up Happy Valley neighbourhood

Police responded to a call from a security guard claiming to have seen an armed man entering a residential estate in Happy Valley on May 2, Monday afternoon.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the 68-year-old guard told police around 2.30pm that he saw a man carrying a handgun enter a residential block on Blue Pool Road.

Soon after the a portion of the road was closed as a team of emerency unit officers — fully-equipped with protective gear and submachine guns — surrounded the building. After approximately 90 minutes, officers found a teenaged boy in one of the flats, with a toy gun.

No arrests were made during the incident.
