Discovery Bay parents are being urged to remind their children of the risks of skateboarding on roads after a 21-year old man skated into a bus on Discovery Valley Road.

The incident, which happened at approximately 5pm on Thursday, was reported on social media, with residents expressing concern for the young man, who had to be retrieved from underneath the bus. Around DB understands that the man was taken to St Margaret Hospital in Kwai Chung for treatment.

Islands district concillor Amy Yung said that the incident further highlighted the need for a skateboard park in Discovery Bay. In a statement to Around DB she said, “There are lots of parks for young children in DB, but we also need facilities for teenagers.” Amy pledged to continue raising the issue in order to help find a suitable location for a facility.
