Dozens of building workers and residents in Pokfulam were evacuated from their homes on Monday after an unexploded bomb was uncovered on a construction site.
The 500lb (227kg) US-made bomb was unearthed at around 10am at the luxury residential development site at 138 Pokfulam Road, causing police to seal off the area within a 400-metre radius.
The bomb was due to be defused on Monday evening.
A number of unexploded bombs have been found in Hong Kong since the end of World War II, the largest of which weighed in at nearly 1 tonne. The discovery led to the evacuation of over 2,200 people in Happy Valley in 2014.
