A pregnant finless porpoise and her foetus washed up on Cheung Sha Beach on Saturday (May 12). Beachgoers discovered the female adult porpoise with her lower body missing and the unborn calf laying beside her at around 3pm.

Gary Stokes of Sea Shepherd and representatives from the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation (OPCF) were called to attend to the bodies. It is believed the porpoise had been hit by a ship, as there was a clean cut through her body.
