The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) has warned the public of a possible E. coli contamination on Gold Medal Unbleached All-Purpose Flour, a pre-packaged product imported from the United States.

11 packs of the 48 imported into Hong Kong have been sold through City’super. The product has been removed from shelves and all remaining stock has been surrendered to the CFS for disposal.

The product details are as follows:

Product name: Gold Medal Unbleached Flour

Net weight: 5 pounds per pack

Use-by date: August 14, 2017

E. coli is a potentially deadly gastro-intestinal infection that can lead to intestinal bleeding and serious complications. If members of the public are feeling unwell, visit your local doctor immediately. For more information on the recall, you can contact the supermarket directly at 2736 3866 during office hours.
