This year’s Asian Open Regatta, Asia’s premier cat sailing event, was held with great success on the weekend of November 8-9.
Organised by Lantau Boat Club, the aim was to make the regatta the icing on the cake of the 2015 season.
Club Sailing Chair Steve Devlin said he was very pleased with the event, which was the culmination of months of planning with James Ford.
“The Asian Open Regatta has once again proven to be the race that features more thrills, spills and social spectacles than any other – and it will be better again in 2016,” he said.
Steve thanked a number of people who helped make the Regatta such a success, including Gabriel Kicks, Ulrike Welcker Ross Taylor, Cindy Chung, James Ford, David Harris, Bo Fussing, Doris Hung, James Branch, Andy Kieth and Marc Holm.
He also thanked the support staff Owen and Wendy Ma, Ansgar and Tomke Brockenmeyer ,Will Darling, Tong Shing, Jonothan Rechten, Sat Wei Ling, Heidi Higson, Heidi Petrick, Martin Francony, Tom Nunan, Michael Cowell and Ho Wing Keung
The Overall Regatta Champions were Michael Guinea and Steve Devlin.
