According to the official Hong Kong’s Information Services Department, the North Lantau Hospital in Tung Chung is under investigation.
The Hospital Authority is compiling a report on the death of a man who collapsed near the entrance of the hospital yesterday.
Health minister Dr Ko Wing-man told reporters this morning that “hospital workers had followed the correct procedures by informing Accident and Emergency Department medical staff after finding out a 62 year old man was unwell outside the hospital.”
“He noted that medical staff took a few minutes to gather the necessary equipment for first aid and resuscitation, but before they reached the scene, an ambulance had arrived first and took the man to the hospital.”
Dr Ko urged people to allow time for the authority to complete its report before drawing conclusions.
Hopefully, The Hospital Authority will be able to determine whether there was any delay in resuscitating the man who collapsed near the entrance of North Lantau Hospital in Tung Chung.
