If you think it’s looking a little hazy today, you are right – and authorities are warning it could get worse this afternoon.

The Environmental Protection Department’s air monitoring stations were giving readings of air quality with a “Moderate to High” health risk at 10am today.

And the Air Quality Health Index is is forecasting a “Moderate to Very High” health risk this afternoon.

Children, the elderly and people with existing heart and respiratory illnesses are advised to reduce outdoor physical exertion and reduce the time outdoors once the pollution levels hit high.

The warning to reduce time outdoors extends to the general public once the air quality is deemed to be a “Very High” risk to people’s health.
