Police have reminded Lantau Island residents to alert authorities if they have information about any suspicious activity in the wake of an arrest last week.
Police laid a holding charge of one count of murder against a 30-year-old woman on Cheung Chau on August 26.
The holding charge came in suspected connection with a murder case in which the woman’s two-month-old son died on August 25.
The case is now before the court.
The 31-year-old sister of the woman was arrested for misleading police officers and was released on bail pending further inquiries. She is required to report back to police later this month.
A police spokesman said police encouraged citizens to fight crime together with the police.
“Any crime information may be of assistance,” he said.
“Please report to a police station nearby or call the police hotline on 2527 7177.”
