MISG Lantau 50: Lantau resident Zein powers to finish

Lantau resident Zein Williams put in an impressive performance at last weekend’s MSIG Lantau 50 to take out the honours in the 27km category.

Zein, who hails from the UK, was named overall female champion in a time of 3 hours 46 minutes 31 seconds.

Last weekend’s MISG Double on Lantau saw two punishing events over two days, beginning with the MSIG Lantau VK on Saturday which consisted of 5 kms of trail running and hiking and the MSIG

Lantau 50 on Sunday which consisted of a 16km, 27km and 54km course.

Zein, who has competed in previous years, was part of the Xempower Pro Team this year.

“Having the experience of taking the 2014 MSIG Lantau race, I was more excited about this race,” she said.

“It was less windy and the scenery of the course was enjoyable.

“I love VK race but I did not take the 2015 MSIG Lantau VK yesterday because of the injury on my knees.”
