Memorial walk for Marina Club resident Douglas Robert Anderson

Posted in : News on by : Around DB , Comments: 0

Last night on January 12, a memorial walk was held in Discovery Bay for Douglas Robert Anderson, a Marina Club resident and Cathay Pacific Boeing 747 simulator instructor. Anderson was found dead in his new DB apartment on January 3. His neighbours, colleagues and family walked from the entrance of the Marina Club to Tai Pak beach, where they wrote out his name in tealights and held a small ceremony to remember him.

News of the memorial walk quickly spread through a message sent to residents on the Whatsapp messenger platform, as well as on several Discovery Bay-related Facebook groups. The message referred to Anderson as a “gentle giant,”  and he is generally remembered as a funny and chatty man. His two children, Kristen, 27, and Andrew, 21, who currently live in America, came back to Discovery Bay with their mother and attended the walk.

Rest In Peace Douglas. You will be remembered by your friends, family, and community.
