Hong Kong street food added to Michelin fine dining guide

Hong Kong’s famous street food has been added to the latest edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau.

The South China Morning Post reported the historic move by the respected Michelin guide.

Michelin’s international director Michael Ellis said street food in Asia was constantly getting better and had been added to the Michelin list where warranted.

The new section in this year’s guide lists 23 outlets which sell some of Hong Kong’s best-known and best-loved snacks, such as egg waffles, cart noodles and tofu pudding.

Most dishes cost between HK$20 and HK$60. A notable inclusion is the Butchers Club burger and fries at HK$100. Burgers were deemed to be street food as they are available most of the day and convenient.
