With less than a week away till Halloween, we guide you through some events happening in Hong Kong as the spirit of the haunted holiday comes into force.

Over a thousand ghosts and ghouls are set to take part in Ocean Park Halloween Fest, known as Asia’s largest Halloween celebration. Themed attractions include the cavernous Palace of Death, the depraved Project Deathway stage show, and Sugary Spook Village, the longest, outdoor, trick-or-treat trail in Hong Kong. Two dedicated Scare Zones have been built for the first-time ever this year, and there’s also a brand new Halloween Fest smartphone app, Halloween Ghost Hunt, to download. To find out more, visit www.oceanpark.com.hk.

Over at Hong Kong Disneyland, kids can take part in the Mickey & Friends Costume Party and Mickey’s Halloween Time Cavalcade. Mickey, Minnie and Goofy appear atop three giant Jack-o-lantern whirlies together with a host of parade performers. As darkness descends on the resort, evil powers take charge, towering over the crowd, and scowling down on all who dare to look at them. The grand and ghastly finale sees Maleficent appear on the castle walls, where she transforms into a blood-curdling, firebreathing dragon. To find out more, visit www.hongkongdisneyland.com.

For those looking to stay in Lantau, EpicLand is hosting their Happy Halloween Party on Saturday October 29 for a night of trick or treating, horror houses, face painting and more! Call 2441 0098 or email events@epiclandhk.com to book your spot. Don’t miss the Halloween Sale hosted by the Discovery College Parent Teacher Association running from October 19 to 21 for a wonderful range of costumes for children, babies and adults for only HK$50!
