Entrance to designated museums under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is free as of August 1.

This applies to the permanent exhibitions of the Museum of History, the Heritage Museum, the Museum of Coastal Defence and the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum. Also, annual passes to the museums will be reduced by 50% making a family pass just HK$100, an individual pass HK$50 and a concessionary pass HK$25.

The popular Science Museum and the Space Museum will also allow free entry to permanent exhibitions for full-time students who provide identification. Their admission will also be reduced by 20% for the general public, making it HK$20 for standard tickets.

But remember that the Space Museum’s permanent exhibitions are still closed for renovation and set to reopen later this year and the Museum of Art will be shut until 2019.
