Flight from Hong Kong drops 25,000 feet after loss of cabin pressure

An Air China flight from Hong Kong to Dalian was reported to have dropped 25,000 feet within 10 minutes after losing cabin pressure on Tuesday night (July 10), triggering oxygen masks to fall from the ceiling.

The airline has begun investigations, reportedly placing both pilots under suspicion of smoking in the cockpit. Air China has a zero tolerance policy for any crew members found guilty of misconduct.

Some passengers on board posted pictures and videos on social media showing themselves wearing oxygen masks but looked calm despite the situation.

Following the incident, the aircraft continued its journey and landed safely at its destination.
