DB community comes together for the 2016 Basketball Tournament

DB residents were treated to a fantastic show of team spirit last Sunday at the annual DB Basketball Tournament Community Health Cup.

Organised by City Management and Love.Together@DB, the tournament took place at Discovery College, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle and community cohesion.

The proceedings got underway at midday, with an opening ceremony officiated by Simon Mawdsley, Chairman of City Owners’ Committee, Dr. Francis Chiu, Chairman of Love. Together@DB, Vic Riley, Steering Committee Member of Love.Together@DB, and Vincent Chua, General Manager of DB Operations from Hong Kong Resort Company Limited, and included a rendition of the event’s theme song, “It’s a wonderful world”.

Consisting of 10 three-round games, the tournament was contested by eight teams – the DB Ballers, DB Transport, Talent Reload, Trinity Chapel, DB Dream, G-Six, Victorious Secret, and CM Rise.

Competition was intense as the players battled it out for the coveted champions title, displaying incredible skill and great teamwork, while family, friends and basketball fans cheered on from the sidelines.

The result was an exciting and fun-filled sporting afternoon, culminating in a gripping final between DB community teams G-Six and the DB Ballers. Both teams put up a great fight, but it was G-Six who edged ahead, with a final score of 30 – 20.

1st runners-up: DB Ballers
2nd runners-up: Talent Reload
3rd Runners-up: Trinity Chapel
Gold Merit: DB Dream
Gold Merit: Victorious Secret
Merit: DB Transport
Merit: CM Rise
