DB residents are pulling together in the aftermath of Typhoon Magkhut to help neighbours in Nim Shue Wan who have been badly affected by the storm.
Many properties in the village have suffered severe damage, as well as loss of electricity and access to clean water. Some less mobile residents are also unable to leave the village due to the path being blocked, while others have had to take shelter with neighbours.
Yesterday, Monday September 17, a number of DB residents came together to provide clean drinking water and other supplies such as food and towels to village residents.
The relief effort is continuing today, Tuesday September 18, with a coordinated delivery of supplies. Anyone wanting to help is asked to take useful items to the Nim Shue Wan gate between 5pm and 6pm this evening. Useful items include:
– Canned food
– Dry food
– Cups/ mugs
– Bed linen
– Light bulbs
Household appliances to help replace damaged equipment will also be gratefully received. Anyone wishing to donate larger items is being asked to coordinate with Nikki Boot of DB Mothers & Friends.Tags: nim shue wan, community, weather, Typhoon Mangkhut
