Open to all primary and secondary school students across DB, the competition has been launched as part of a revitalisation project taking place in DB, in which an unused refuse collection chamber will be transformed into a ‘Green Exhibition Centre’ to display the different environmental initiatives being implemented in the community and act as a food and glass recycling demonstration and operation centre.
As part of the transformation, the chamber’s gate will be painted with the competition winner’s design. In line with the new chamber’s use, the theme for the competition is environmental protection, so think green!
How to enter,
– Create a green/ environmental-themed design on A3-sized paper
– Include your full name, school name and class on the back of the entry
– Submit your design to your school by February 5, 2018
Each school will provide a shortlist of entries for the two categories — primary and secondary — to the competition organisers, and the finalists’ designs will be posted on the Around DB Facebook page on March 5 for the community to select their favourite. To vote, residents simply need to ‘like’ the design they want to win. Online voting will close on March 12.
The winner will be announced on March 14 on the Around DB Facebook page and the design will be published in Around DB’s April issue.
In addition to their design being painted on the chamber’s gate, the winning student will receive a HK$2,000 book coupon and certificate. The first-runner up will receive a HK$1,500 book coupon and certificate, and the second runner-up will receive a HK$1,000 book coupon and certificate. Three merit entries will receive a HK$500 book coupon and certificate.
