After closing its doors on the Peak for the final time at the end of July, Cafe Deco is back! Now located at The ONE in Tsim Sha Tsui, the new Cafe Deco has all the style and charm of its predecessor, just with the opposite view!
Around DB and Life on Lantau headed along to the opening to check out the new location and find out what’s on the menu.
First of all, the surroundings. As you’d expect from the renowned Hong Kong chain, the new restaurant is kitted out in true Art Deco style, with attention to detail everywhere, right from floor to ceiling. Full height windows give it a bright, open feel, and the panoramic view of the Hong Kong skyline is exceptional. There’s also a small, but cosy, outdoor terrace and a large, wrap-around cocktail bar for pre-dinner drinks.
Food-wise, we tried the lobster ‘Thermidor’ and beef with mashed potatoes, both of which were excellent, as was the selection of Indian dishes. There is also an oyster bar for seafood fans and plenty of Asian and international options to choose from.
As before, brunch is available on Sundays, however due to the smaller size of the restaurant, there is no children’s play area. The brunch is priced at a very reasonable $390 per adult and $158 per child though, so it remains a good option for families. A free-flow drinks package is available for $100 extra and all prices are subject to a 10% service charge.
Overall, both the food and service were great, and we left wanting to go back very soon.
Open from 12pm to 2.30pm / 5pm to 10.30pm Monday to Saturday and 11.30am – 3pm / 5pm – 10.30pm on Sundays, Cafe Deco is located at 20/F The ONE, 100 Nathan Road Tsim Sha Tsui.
