Three people have been arrested for the murder of British PolyU teacher Hilary St John Bower.
Taken in by mainland police last Friday were two men — aged 28 and 23 — and a 38-year-woman. All three hail from Hubei province.
After travelling into the mainland from Low Wu on March 22, the night of his disappearance, the victim is said to have gone to his second apartment in Nanshan, Shenzhen. After speaking to his girlfriend at 9.10pm that evening, he proceded to the apartment, apparently lured by an alleged mistress.
That was when he was killed, according to police sources. The said mistress later surrendered herself to the authorities on April 7.
An exhaustive search had been underway since Bower’s disappearance, before police confirmed his murder last Tuesday, April 12. Few details surrounding his death had been revealed. It was previously believed that the tragedy was connected to a HK$9M real estate deal.
