What could be more satisfying than smugly telling people something they don’t know? Nothing, in my book, rivals it. Anything historically obscure to appear well-read and superior works brilliantly for me. What I find irksome are the blank expressions that follow my pronouncements, the faces clearly denoting the weirdness of their interlocutor.

Hong Kong trail runner and DB Resident Nikki Han just became the first woman ever to “break 60 hours” at the 298km Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4TUC). Crossing the finish line after 58 hours and 20 minutes, Nikki consecutively completed all of the four major trails in Hong Kong; the MacLehose, Wilson, Hong Kong and Lantau Trails.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Research Centre on Migration and Mobility (RCMM) recently conducted a survey to determine the health of domestic workers in Hong Kong. The findings illustrated that many helpers are confronted with being over-worked, as well as poor working conditions, which in turn negatively affects their health.
