Temperatures set to drop towards the weekend

Hong Kong Weather

Temperatures are set to take a tumble over the next few days, as a cold front moves towards the south China coast.

According to the Hong Kong Observatory, a "humid easterly airstream" is currently affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong and will bring mist and rain patches to the region over the next few days.

The Observatory advised that a cold front is expected to take a grip from Thursday and that the "associated northeast monsoon will bring cold weather to the region in the latter part of this week and over the weekend." Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach a maximum of 16 degrees from Friday to Sunday, with a low of 12 degrees forecast for Monday morning.
