DBIS pays tribute to teacher following tragic incident in Switzerland

Discovery Bay International School

The Head of Discovery Bay International School (DBIS) has today paid tribute to Mark O'Reilly, a much-loved teacher at the school who sadly died whilst on the school ski trip in Switzerland at the weekend.

In a letter to parents, Head of School Paul Tough confirmed that Mr O'Reilly's body had been found at the Les Elfes International Ski Resort on Saturday. Mr Tough said that police believe Mr O'Reilly had an accident whilst out walking alone on Friday evening and that there were no suspicious circumstances at this stage.

The school has arranged for bereavement counsellors from Saint John's Counselling Service to come to the school to support students and staff during this difficult time.

A memorial service for Mr O'Reilly has been arranged at the school on Sunday, February 19.
