Cargo plane travelling from Hong Kong to Turkey crashes in Kyrgyzstan, killing 32

At least 32 people have died after a cargo plane crashed into a village near Kyrgyzstan's Manas airport earlier today.

The Boeing 747-400, travelling from Hong Kong to Istanbul, was due to make a stopover at the airport, however crashed when trying to land in poor weather conditions. The aircraft was operated by ACT Airlines, also known as MyCargo Airlines.

Reports indicate that four of the deceased were on board the plane, with the remaining casualties from the village. A number of people have also been taken to hospital with injuries. It is understood that 15 buildings were damaged in the accident.

Manas airport has been closed following the crash.
