DB residents advised to be cautious as medical waste is found washed up on Tai Pak Wan

Waste on DB beach

Residents are being urged to take extra care on DB's beaches over the coming days, after more medical waste was found washed up on the shore.

Cleaning staff are working hard to remove the dangerous trash from DB's main beach, Tai Pak Wan, however with weather conditions unsettled at present, there is a high chance that more items will appear.

The problem of medical waste first came to light in July, when DB resident Moran Zukerman shared images of items including syringes and IV bags on Sam Pak Wan at the North Plaza. Concerned about beachgoers' safety, Moran heads to the beach to pick up the waste on a regular basis, his largest haul being 53 syringes in just one day.

Residents are advised to wear shoes when going to the beach and to watch children closely.
