New plastic bottle scheme launched with Watsons to encourage recycling in HK

Watsons Hong Kong and local green group, World Green Organisation, have been working closely to reduce the number of disposed plastic containers in the city.

According to 2014 figures from the government, Hong Kong disposes roughly 132 tonnes of plastic bottles a day, equivalent to 5.3 million plastic bottles.

William Yu, CEO of World Green Organisation, hopes that with enough cooperation and education on recycling to the public, plastic in Hong Kong can be used to create art and other useful raw materials rather than becoming a burden to our landfills.

By bringing in plastic water bottles or containers to Watsons, you can get 5% off Watsons brand personal care items in-store.
