Hong Kong has been named the most expensive city for expats by consultancy firm Mercer in their 2016 Cost of Living Survey.
Other Asian cities appearing in the top 10 are Singapore (4), Tokyo (5), Shanghai (7) and Beijing (10), with Shenzhen coming in at number 12.
The survey compares 209 cities across the globe, looking at a number of factors including transport, accommodation and the cost of goods and services. It is used by firms to determine compensation packages when transferring staff abroad.
The three cheapest cities were named as Windhoek in Namibia, Cape Town and Bishkek in Kyrgystan.
