37 injured in five-vehicle pile-up on Tsing Ma bridge

A five-vehicle pile-up on Tsing Ma bridge on Sunday June 19 has left 37 people injured, with two men in a critical condition.
The most seriously injured were the driver of the last bus, who had to be cut free by firefighters, and a passenger who was thrown through the window of a shuttle bus in the impact.
According to police, the accident happened at around 5:30pm when a light goods vehicle collided with four coaches on the Kowloon-bound carriageway. The incident caused long tail-backs on the North Lantau Highway. The closed lanes on the bridge were reopened at around 9pm. All of the drivers involved passed breathalyser tests.
