Bank phishing scam uncovered in latest alerts from government

Hong Kong's Monetary Authority issued two alerts on Monday, May 23, one regarding a fraudulent Dah Sing Bank website and another about a phishing email claiming to be from Standard Chartered Bank.
Dah Sing Bank had, in a press release, reminded customers that its only official website is www.dahsing.com. Standard Chartered Bank likewise told its customers to never access any of their e-Banking accounts through email hyperlinks.

Anyone who has given personal information or conducted financial transactions through these fraudulent websites / circulating emails must contact the police at 2860 5012, as well as the corresponding banks (Dah Sing Bank hotline 3101 3111; Standard Chartered Bank hotline 2886 8868 local 260).
On May 20, Bay Media reported about another phishing email, claiming to be from HK Electric.
