Three-year-old girl survives collision with taxi in Mong Kok

Dashcam footage of a child getting hit by a taxi in busy Mong Kok traffic spread across social media late Tuesday night.

The incident, which took place around 9.30pm on May 16, the night before, involved a three-year-old-girl running a crosswalk on Argyle Street despite the red light.

A Kowloon Motor Bus double-decker stopped right at the crosswalk as the girl dashed in front of it. She then ran into the side of an oncoming cab two lanes away just a few seconds later, knocking her down.

The girl quickly got to her feet but fell again, dazed. Passers-by rushed to help her, including the cab's 60-year-old driver, and the girl's 24-year-old mother, whom the child was running to across the road.

Remaining conscious, the girl was brought to Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei, and was later discharged after being treated for minor facial injuries.

The video was uploaded to Facebook by user Jason Lau.
