Selfie-themed public park opens in Wan Chai

While some popular theme parks in Hong Kong discourage, if not outright prohibit (some ways of) taking selfies, a new attraction in Wan Chai was made precisely for it.

Ani-Com Park@Harbour"FUN" opened on April 29 at the open space near Golden Bauhinia Square. The park features life-sized figures of 30 classic ani-com characters reflecting Hong Kong everyday life.

Among these characters are Old Master Q, Cloud, Tiger, Ding Ding Penguin, On On and Guy Guy.

Made with both locals and tourists in mind, the park was set up in the spirit of promoting Hong Kong animation and comics, as well as the city's beauty and culture. That it encourages selfies will also boost promotion on social media.

The park forms part of an ani-com hub spanning across Victoria Harbour, along with other similar cultural destinations closeby, including the Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Ani-Com Park@Harbour"FUN" is open for 24 hours a day, and entrance is free of charge.
