Things to do this weekend
- Written by arounddb, 21 April 2016
A number of events have been lined up for this Saturday and Sunday at Discovery Bay! Check out the weekend's activities.
April 23 starts off with an exciting kart race along Seabird lane at 9am, organised by Harvey Law Group.
It also happens to be Discovery Bay Recycling Day, with activities at DB Main Plaza beginning at 11am. These include games, a lucky draw, and performances.
An outdoor picnic & playday at Discovery College has been organized by Epicland and DB Mama, with sports, outdoor laser tag and more. And the Proverse Readers' Club is back in session at Dymocks at 3pm.
April 24 is Fashion Revolution Day. Tung Chung resident Sonia Renaut encourages everyone to take to social media to demand transparency from the apparel industry. The event is supported by HK NGO Redress.
"Save Lantau" Arts Fair cum Civil Hearing takes place at 11am at the Central Pier 8. Anyone can join to share and exchange ideas about Lantau with government officials and professionals from different disciplines, in hope of clarifying the principles of Lantau’s development, and exploring possibilities for Lantau other than the concept of "Southern Gateway of PRD" raised by the government. Register here.
There will be a beach clean-up at Sam Pak Wan in Discovery Bay North at 2pm, courtesy of Plastic Free Seas and DB Green.
Finally, Migrants in Action holds the last of its six-part series Sunday activities, including Zumba and a stress & anxiety reduction workshop at Movement Improvement at 4pm, followed by a debrief gathering at the DB North Plaza.
