HK$2 million to promote Ngong Ping 360

Lantau’s drawcard tourist attraction Ngong Ping 360 has received about HK$2 million funding package for overseas promotion.

The grant was part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Matching Fund for Overseas Promotion by Tourist Attractions.

The fund was set up to assist tourist attractions to enhance their overseas promotions.

Ten attractions received a total of HK$10 million, including Hong Kong 3D Museum, Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, Peak Tramways and sky100 Observation Deck.

Ngong Ping 360 received the largest grant out of all the groups.

A Ngong Ping 360 spokesperson welcomed the grant from the Matching Fund.

“We have received around HKD$2 million from the Matching Fund Scheme for overseas promotions,” the spokesperson said.

"The Fund will be used for promoting NP360 to potential markets such as the Mainland China, Philippines, Thailand, Korea and India through print advertisement, online advertisement, social media etc.

“We will also ally with other local tourist attractions and travel agents to promote in designated markets.

“We are working on the details of the promotion and wish to attract more tourists to Hong Kong and Ngong Ping 360.”
