Movember: Father's battle inspires Trent

His father’s battle with prostate cancer has inspired Trent Anniss to take part in men’s health fundraiser, Movember.

The event is the annual fundraising initiative of the Movember Foundation, a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier and longer lives, held every November.

Since 2003, Movember has raised HK $5 billion for more than 1000 programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

Trent, who lives in DB with wife Rachel and 13-month-old baby Ollie, is taking part for the first time this year.

“I'm taking part in Movember because my dad Ralph was diagnosed with prostate cancer over three years ago now and it's a show of support for him,” he said.

“(It’s also to back) this magnificent foundation which supports men's health in general but in particular prostrate cancer in my case.”

The Cathay Pacific pilot has lived in DB for 18 months but hails from Australia.
