DB fundraising efforts continue

The fundraising efforts for Nepal are continuing in DB, with Nerida Kiprotich, from KIPMOVIN in DB, organising a successful charity run with the KIPMOVIN team last Sunday, May 10.
Well done to all participants for raising almost HKD60,000, and the donations from the run are still flowing in. All money raised is going to See Change Foundation Nepal, which focuses on education, healthcare and rural development in Nepal.
A host of spirited and enthusiastic runners ran in teams of two, with a mix of adults and children, around either a 1km or 450m loop in Sienna Park, running as many laps as possible over 90 minutes.
61 runners covered at total of 407km, with each team organizing their own sponsors.
With another earthquake hitting Nepal on Tuesday, this time coming in at 7.3 on the Richter Scale, the country is still in desperate need of aid and DB residents are urged to continue to donate.
The Calvary Church in DB is also doing its bit for the relief effort, with Pastor Robert Escueta leading a mission trip to Nepal.
The group, who left for Nepal on Wednesday, May 13 and will return on May 21, will focus their efforts on the village of Bangare, with which the Calvary Church has a family connection.
Donations towards Bangare Village can be made through the church.
Further updates on fundraising efforts in DB will be available on www.arounddb.com and on the Around DB Facebook page.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the Nepalese, Indian and Bangladeshi communities affected by this disaster.
