Update on Nepal fundraising efforts
- Written by arounddb
In the wake of news that a second major earthquake struck Nepal on Tuesday, Uncle Russ owner YB Rai has sent a reminder that 10% of every coffee and beer sold at his stores until the end of May will go to earthquake victims.
After the first two weeks of his fundraising efforts, YB has raised $186,615, a number that is still climbing.
This figure is made up of monies raised via collection boxes at the Pier Bar and the Uncle Russ stores at Pier 3 and Pier 6, as well as personal cheques and the Big Sai Wan and Little Sai Wan golf tournaments organised by YB.
Collection boxes at the Uncle Russ outlets in both the North and South Plaza's in DB are yet to be counted.
Also in DB, Discovery College, Discovery Bay International School, Discovery Mind Primary School and Embody DB have all held fundraising events.
