Charity workers urge not to donate dirty items to Nepal victims

According to Sky Post, charities working to help earthquake victims in Nepal have been shocked to see dirty items donated to the victims, such as diapers, curtains, underwear, etc..
You have all been very generous to give money and items to Nepal victims. However, apparently, nearly 20 percent of donated clothing is unsuitable and this means that volunteers spend an unnecessary time filtering what can be sent from what should be dumped!
Simon Wong, community relations director at Salvation Army Hong Kong, said "donating used clothing from unidentified sources is inappropriate, as the recipients could fall sick if the clothing is contaminated". If you are not sure of what would be suitable to donate, then monetary donations are always a better choice.
